Ms. April is entering her fourth year at Montessori Children’s School (MCS) and serves as a Classroom Floater, supporting students and teachers across multiple levels of the school community. Originally from New Jersey, she began her professional journey by serving nine years in the United States Marine Corps as a Military Police Officer, where she developed strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
During her military service, April earned her Associate in Arts degree from Coastal Carolina Community College and later attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she studied Criminology with a minor in Forensic Chemistry.
After the birth of her youngest child, April discovered a passion for working with children and transitioned into education. She spent four years with Onslow County Schools as a Substitute Teacher and Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant before joining MCS. Her Montessori journey began as a substitute teacher and classroom assistant, and she now serves as a Classroom Floater, bringing flexibility, enthusiasm, and support to students and staff throughout the school.
As both an educator and parent, April values creating positive relationships with children and helping them build confidence, independence, and a love of learning. Her calm demeanor, adaptability, and dedication make her a valued member of the MCS community.
Outside of school, April enjoys spending time with her two children and sharing her love of the outdoors through activities such as hiking, swimming, kayaking, and exploring nature together.
