Last Day for Students

End of year Picnic

June 6, 2025
3:15-5:15

This year’s picnic will be held at the Jacksonville Commons Park, Shelter #1 (The shelter is located behind the Recreation Center, next to the ball fields) from 3:30PM- 5:30PM. It is open to our families at any point during that time slot. Come out and have the children play one last time before summer kicks off! This is also a great time to meet other families and the faculty.

We will have pizza for everyone.

Families will have the opportunity to purchase snowballs from Pelican’s Snoballs. 

Family Orientation

August 21, 2025
5:00 pm – 7:30pm

 

Session #1: 5:15pm-6:30pm**
Session #2: 6:45pm-7:30pm**
Orientation attendance is required for your child to start school on August 26th

Due to limited space, one adult from each family may attend one of the Orientation Sessions (this also applies to multi-household families). Please no children to include infants. Located at the Onslow County Public Library at 58 E Doris Ave., Jacksonville, NC. Sign up will be required to attend.

Family & Student Open House

August 25, 2025 
9:30 am-11:45 pm

On August 25th, students and their families are welcome to visit their classrooms and drop off items from the personal classroom supply list. This is also a great time to meet the teacher and the assistant.

August 26th and 27th, is a half day for all students.

Labor Day- No School

September 1, 2025

Montessori Children’s School will be closed on September 1st in observance of Labor Day.  

Teacher Workday

Montessori Children’s School will be closed for students on September 26th for a teacher work day, allowing educators dedicated time for planning and professional development.  

 

Half Day for Students

*October 29th (Wednesday) Half Day for students,

Parent/ Teacher Conferences in the afternoon. No lunch needed. Dismissal times: 11:30-Elem., 11:45-Primary, 12:00-Stepping Stones

Family/ Child Night

November 7, 2025
5:30 pm-7:00 pm

You are invited to our first Family/Child Night of the 2025-2026 school year, today, Friday, November 7th, from 5:30-7:00 pm! This is a very special time for MCS students to show their family a few lessons they are currently working on. Some classrooms may have specific time slots to sign up for. See your child‘s Lead Teacher with any questions.

**Please remember this is a time for you to spend some one-on-one time with only your MCS child. If you have any specific questions about the classroom or your child, please see your child‘s Lead Teacher to set up a conference time.

Veteran's Day- No School

November 11, 2025

Montessori Children’s School will be closed November 11th, to observe Veteran’s Day.

Veterans Day is a U.S. holiday observed on November 11th to honor all military veterans who have served in the Armed Forces. It is a time to recognize their bravery, sacrifice, and commitment to protecting the nation.

 
 

Fall Break- No School

November 26-28, 2025

MCS will be closed November 26th-28th for Fall break. Students will return Monday, December 1st. 

Spirit Week

December 15-18, 2025

Each day the week of December 15th, the students are invited to dress up according to a designated theme. More details to come!

Winter Break- No School

December 29, 2025- January 2, 2026

MCS is closed for winter break from December 29th-January 2nd. Students return on January 6th. 

Last Day of School

June 6, 2025

June 6th, is the last day of school for all students. We hope our families have a terrific Summer break. 

 

First Full Day of School

August 28, 2025

August 28th is the first full day of school for Primary and Elementary students. 

Aftercare also starts on the 28th. 

 

Family Welcome Picnic

September 12, 2025
3:30 pm-5:00 pm

Please join us Friday, September 12th, for our Annual Welcome Picnic. Festivities will begin at 3:30pm and will go until 5:00pm. 

***Pizza and water will be provided and Pelican’s Snowballs will be on site.

Closed for
Winter Break

MCS will be closed from Dec 21st- Jan 2nd. Staff will return on Jan 3rd, and students will return on Jan 6th.

We would like to wish all of our MCS Families a very happy, healthy holiday season! Have a wonderful winter break with your loved ones and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2025!
