Ms. Dianna Gagne is joining Montessori Children’s School (MCS) for the 2026–2027 school year as the Upper Elementary Lead Teacher. She brings a wealth of experience in education, mathematics, and individualized instruction, along with a deep commitment to nurturing each child’s unique potential and love of learning.
Ms. Gagne earned a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from New College of California and a Master of Arts in Theology from Holy Apostles College & Seminary in Connecticut. She has also completed extensive graduate coursework in elementary education and has studied writing, history, journalism, and mathematics at the collegiate level. She is currently enrolled in the West Side Montessori School Teacher Education Program (WSMS-TEP) in New York, where she is completing her Elementary II Montessori certification, expected in June 2027.
Prior to joining MCS, Ms. Gagne spent ten years serving students in Connecticut public schools as a substitute teacher and most recently worked as a middle school mathematics tutor. Her experience also includes private math tutoring, serving as an assistant director for a summer youth camp, tutoring students with special needs in a Transition Academy, and volunteering with Voices of Belonging, an outreach program supporting ethnically diverse middle school students.
Ms. Gagne believes every child is a capable, curious learner who thrives when given the freedom to explore their interests within a thoughtfully prepared environment. Her passion for Montessori education stems from its respect for each child’s individual pace of development and its emphasis on independence, critical thinking, and joyful discovery. She looks forward to building a classroom community where students are inspired to grow academically, socially, and personally.
Originally from Connecticut, Dianna is excited to make Jacksonville her home and become part of the Montessori Children’s School community. Outside the classroom, she enjoys spending time in nature, advocating for animal welfare, and supporting environmental stewardship.
