Ms. Haley Zahnd is joining Montessori Children’s School (MCS) for the 2026–2027 school year as the Lower Elementary West Classroom Assistant. She brings a diverse background in education, psychology, and behavior support, along with a passion for helping children develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
After serving honorably in the Marine Corps, Ms. Haley earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with minors in Education and Sociology, as well as a Master of Education in Special Education from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. She is currently completing her Elementary Assistant Certification through The Center for Guided Montessori Studies (CGMS). Prior to joining MCS, she worked as a Recreational Paraprofessional and Transition Coach, supporting children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She also spent two years homeschooling her own children, further strengthening her appreciation for individualized, child-centered learning.
Ms. Haley believes every child should be recognized as a capable and curious individual with unique strengths and interests. She is passionate about fostering independence, building meaningful relationships, and creating an environment where children feel respected, supported, and encouraged to explore the world around them. As a new member of the MCS community, she looks forward to learning alongside her students and supporting their growth both academically and personally.
Originally from Middle Tennessee, Ms. Haley enjoys spending time with her partner, two children, and their two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, running, playing kickball, traveling, and exploring new places with her family.
