Mrs. Maegan Brusaw serves as the Head of School at Montessori Children’s School (MCS), bringing more than 15 years of experience in Montessori education and school leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management from the University of Mount Olive and a Master of Education in Montessori Integrative Learning from the Institute for Educational Studies at Endicott College. Mrs. Brusaw is also certified in Early Childhood Montessori Education through the American Montessori Society.
Having spent her entire Montessori career at MCS, Mrs. Brusaw has served the school in a variety of roles, including Stepping Stones Assistant, Office Assistant, Primary Lead Directress, Primary Level Coordinator, and teacher mentor before becoming Head of School in 2022. Her experience working directly with children, mentoring educators, and supporting families provides her with a unique perspective on every stage of a child’s Montessori journey.
Mrs. Brusaw is deeply committed to preserving the integrity of Montessori education while fostering a strong, connected school community. She believes that every child deserves an environment that nurtures independence, curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. In addition to her leadership at MCS, she has mentored Montessori teacher trainees, presented at educational conferences, and serves as an Adjunct Professor in Sarasota University’s Montessori Education Program, helping prepare the next generation of Montessori educators.
As both an educator and parent, Mrs. Brusaw has a deep appreciation for the partnership between school and family. Her four children have attended Montessori Children’s School, further strengthening her connection to the MCS community and its mission.
Outside of school, Maegan enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with her family, and continuing her own lifelong learning journey.
